Today I started work on my rough draft, but first notes. I have a habit of doing a lot of writing at work. I don’t know what it is about work, but it always makes me want to do anything else besides work. I put a couple of pages of notes down and brought them home to put together a little bit into the start of my rough draft. I was able to get about 600 words in today, and I think that is a pretty good start.
I learned something in the little bit of the course I started that I just have to keep pushing forward. Don’t edit and don’t look back at your writing or you can get stuck there in the revision mode. I will have to make a couple of revision notes already because there will always need to be clean up when writing…I know that from writing flash fiction, and of course doing papers in school.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve so I’m not sure how much writing I will accomplish, but maybe that night after visiting with family I can get a few words down. I just know that I have to keep pushing through and keep myself motivated.
