The political landscape the media would like to portray in the United States is that you are either a Republican or Democrat, but what they seem to forget is that a majority of Americans are in the middle and those to factions are continually trying to pull most of us to one side or the other. I myself had identified as a Republican for a long time, but that has changed in the last few years.
I have definitely started to fall more into the line of the Libertarian belief system or Independent. I really just want the government to leave me the, forgive my language, the fuck alone. Both sides of the political spectrum seem to want to have some kind of control over its citizens, and it is infuriating that both parties seem to fight more to keep us fighting than to fix anything.
So, yes my political views have changed, and the idea of being with one group or the other just does not fall into my belief system anymore. Being an individual who cares for its society is more important to me than any part seems to be able to provide.
