Book Review – Dark Asylum by E.S. Thompson

This is a book I discovered on our trip to Scotland. Anytime we go on trips I always look for the local book stores.

To start off with what a pleasant surprise to find such a great book half way around the world. Once I started on this book it was hard to put down. the character Jem is so well developed, and with her sidekick Will you get a true sense of love and friendship.

The story is historical fiction set in the year 1851 at an Asylum in Edinburgh. There are two murders which the character Dr. Hawkins has enlisted Jem to help solve, she is very good at solving puzzles and as an apothecary has a sharp mind.

There are many twists and turns and once you think you have it figured out you find out you are wrong.
